===================================
Lenny & I went to PW today. It took 4 hours to get there going through two check points. Almost every house on the island has some sort of damage. It will take a long time for
Pointe West has faired well compared to rest of the island. All building structures are intact, some roofs and balconies are damaged. Also the W and NW facing walls of the units had more damage. On some buildings, the plywood on the balconies were either damaged or gone altogether. We saw one unit on the top floor of one of the bayside buildings has structural roof damage. Our unit look fine from outside but NW facing master bedroom has ceiling damage from inside. Water was pushed in from upstairs balcony, and carpet was wet by the master bedroom balcony door. We also checked another unit that has a similar damage. We assume that this would be typical situation for a lot units with W/NW facing balconies. For your reference, we are the second beachfront building to the east of beach club. Beachclub looked fine, walkway to the beach was ok except the staircase and the showers, which were gone completely. Our beach is also reduced by 20-30 yards depending on the tide. A lot of palm trees were down, especialy by the beach club. We took pictures and Lenny will try to send you some tomorrow. We will all have some work to do but still very fortunate compared to the rest of the island.
